I am so delighted to join University of Science and Technology Bannu (USTB) as a Vice Chancellor for the greater cause of building a platform for providing higher education in yet another under-privileged area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially in the face of reality that it is the first university established in this region (after Gomal University) for the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The university is in the early stages of development and after my humble efforts for the development of University of Swat, Peshawar and FATA University, I am looking forward to a very productive and positive contribution to the development of USTB.

Bannu has been a historical city with rich cultural background and has produced notable people with significant contribution to the national development in different fields including higher education. As we all know this region has been suffering (for decades) due to its proximity with Afghanistan and some other factors, which affected the process of development to a great extent. Now there is a strong need to go for damage reversal.

My passion for “Transformation through education and training” is the driving force behind my option of choosing USTB for my services. Allah willing, together with my team and relevant people from the larger community, I am fully motivated to bring in positive change in the lives of people of the area through higher education, believing in providing educational facilities at the doorstep of common people. I have always talked very highly of the people of the area as Pakhtuns’ psyche has been the focus of my research. It is so heartening to come and lead this major university in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and efforts are on for its development as part of the development initiative taken by the Government in the larger interest of the public. These efforts will make the life of people easy in this part of our beloved country and in the suffering of people will be ultimately lessened.

I am hopeful that with the help and support of faculty, staff, students, government and local population we will achieve our targets.

May Allah help us achieve our goals as per our vision, mission, strategic plan, and good intentions.
